GLM CPR Kicks Off Its Webinar Series!



The GLM CPR inaugural webinar titled "Establishing Cerebral Palsy Register in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: a Step-By-Step Guide" concluded with an overwhelming response, drawing 42 participants from 10 nations. Hosted by Professor Gulam Khandaker (Director Public Health, Central Queensland Public Health Unit, Australia), the session featured enlightening presentations and interactive discussions.

 

Professor Nadia Badawi AM (CP Alliance Chair of Cerebral Palsy Research University of Sydney, Australia) extended a warm welcome to the attendees and encouraged everyone to actively participate in the webinar.

 

Professor Gulam Khandaker provided a comprehensive overview of CP registers, emphasizing the global reach of the GLM CPR. Dr. Israt Jahan shared insights from CSF Global journey operating the Bangladesh CP register (BCPR), highlighting its impact on early diagnosis and intervention.

 

Participants actively engaged through surveys, indicating widespread collection of crucial data elements and unanimous agreement on the importance of collaboration and cultural sensitivity in CP programs. Professor Khandaker emphasized the importance of data dissemination and knowledge translation.

 

Feedback poured in, lauding the presenters, and expressing gratitude for the informative session. Participants commended the efforts of BCPR and GLM CPR, expressing eagerness for future collaborations and learning opportunities.

 

Professor Mohammad Muhit (President, CSF Global) concluded the event with an appreciation for the participants' active involvement, marking a significant step forward in advancing CP care globally.
