IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EARLY INTERVENTION IN CEREBRAL PALSY
Join us for a practical and evidence-based webinar designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills to deliver effective early intervention for infants and young children with, or at high risk of, cerebral palsy.
TIME & LOCATION
18 Aug 2025, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm AEST
Webinar
ABOUT THE TRAINING
WHO SHOULD JOIN: Doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists/speech pathologists.
OBJECTIVE: This webinar aims to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to implement evidence-based early intervention strategies for infants and young children diagnosed with, or at high risk of, cerebral palsy (CP).
CONTENTS:
1. Overview of the latest evidence on early intervention strategies for children with CP
2. Application of key intervention methods, including:
a. Goal Directed Training (GDT)
b. Game Activity Motor Enrichment (GAME)
c. Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT)
d. Bimanual Therapy (BT)
e. Cognitive and visual intervention
3. Summary of international clinical practice guidelines for CP management
LEARNING OUTCOMES: At the end of the training session, the participants will be able to-
· Collaborate with primary caregivers to set meaningful intervention goals
· Apply a range of early intervention strategies (e.g., GDT, GAME, CIMT, BT, HP)
· Align practice with international guidelines for the treatment of children with CP
FACILITATORS:
· A/Prof Cathy Morgan, Senior Research Fellow and Program Lead, Early Detection & Intervention, Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Australia
