COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE (COP) FOR EARLY DETECTION AND EARLY INTERVENTION FOR CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY

Doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists/speech pathologists.

BACKGROUND

The GLM CPR Community of Practice (CoP) is a multi-country implementation science initiative designed to improve access to early detection and early intervention (ED & EI) services for children with cerebral palsy (CP) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Through this CoP we aim to:

• Strengthen professional development, knowledge exchange, and case-based learning to improve ED & EI capabilities in LMICs.

• Generate pooled data on feasibility and accuracy of implementing internationally recommended early detection practices in resource-limited settings.

• Scale up early intervention services that respond to the realities of children with CP in LMICs.

• Develop a shared research protocol to support future multi-country studies on ED & EI for children with CP.

OBJECTIVES

This webinar aims to:

• Provide an overview of the GLM CPR CoP and its role in advancing ED & EI in LMICs.

• Share updates from three regional hubs on implementation strategies, barriers, and solutions.

• Present progress on ongoing multi-country collaborative research.

• Explain opportunities for professionals to join and contribute to the CoP.
